Rabies definition

Neurtropic virus (likes the nerves)
No detectable viraemia till late. Once virus in nerves sequestered away from the immune response. Travels slowly to the CNS along nerves. Causes encephalomyelitis. Always fatal |

Symptoms

<1 week to >1 year incubation but average 1-3 months.
Initial- Fever, unusual pain at wound site 2 types- Furious- hyperactive, excited, hydrophobia and airphobia. Death by cardio-resp arrest. Paralytic, 30%. Paralysis at start of bite, slow progression, coma and then death, |
