Rabies definition
Lyssavirus. Zoonosis of mammalian carnivores. 11 Genetic virus in this Genus. Genotype 1 = Rabies virus. Genotype 7 = Australian Bat Lyssa
Pathogenis
Neurtropic virus (likes the nerves)
No detectable viraemia till late.
Once virus in nerves sequestered away from the immune response. Travels slowly to the CNS along nerves. Causes encephalomyelitis. Always fatal

Hx - Animal Bite (did the dog die- pos for Rabies)

Paralytic, 30%. Paralysis at start of bite, slow progression, coma and then death,
