What is the disease presentation (in a nutshell)?

2. antibody to glycoprotein and live attenuated vaccine that work in animals, not yet tried in people. |

1. Intensive care (fluids, O2, electrolytes, transfuse, iontropes)
2. ribavirin in lassa helps (but not in ebola/marburg) 3. reservoir control etc. |

How does ebola/marburg present?

1. really sick
2. haematological signs: bleeding, rash, conjuctival injection 3. DIC, shock, metabolic change |

Outcome of ebola/marburg?

1. 25-80% mortality
2. survivors have athralgia and psychosocial change |

what lab results from ebola/marburg?
-any treatment for ebola/marburg |
1. leucopenia/lymphopenia/ thrombocytopaenia
2. neutrophilia/raised LFTs -treatment: not much, supportive care, transfusion from survivors |
