What are the two diagnosis specific to trauma in the DSM?
Acute stress disorder and PTSD
What is the difference between acute stress disorder and PTSD?
Acute Stress Disorder generally happens immediately after an event and last no more than 4 weeks. Anything lasting more than 4 weeks is considered PTSD. PTSD generally occurs within 3 months after the event but can also be delayed.
