Step 1 |
Ensure the dual voltage and tap swiches are properly selected prior to hanging the transformer. Note: when offload swiches are supplied the 100% setting should be selected. When connecting to the urban 24kv system use the 97.5% initially. Further adjustments may be requierd as indicated by the voltage test, step 11 |
Step 2 |
Prioir to sending the dropout up the pole (a) remove dropout door (b) attach load and source side primary leads (c) roll up leads |
Step 3 |
Connect dropout to the primary bushing H1 |
Step 4 |
Complete only one of the following depending on arrester configuration (refer to cd 92-5 sheet 1 of 2) (A) connect the tank mounted arrester to the primary bushing H1 lead (B) connect the arrester to the dropout source side lead (C) attach the primary lead to the individually tapped lightning arrester and roll it up in preperation from step 11 |
Step 5 |
Terminate the continuous pole ground on the primary neutral, H2. On older single bushing transformers where no H2 is identified, use either one of two case grounds as H2. |
Step 6 |
Connect the lightning arrester ground lead to the pole ground wire |
Step 7 |
Connect the pole ground wire to the ground rod |
Step 8 |
connect the pole ground wire to the system neutral; and |
Step 9 |
Run a continuous ground wire from the transformer case to the pole ground then to the system neutral |
Step 10 |
Install transformer secondary risers and connect only the neutral riser to the service secondary. |
Step 11 |
Connect the dropout and arrester to the primary source. Install and close the dropout door to energize the transformer. Check the voltage on the secondary risers |
Step 12 |
When the transformer is paralled, phase in hot legs and connect to service secondary while transformer is energized. If not paralleled proceed to step 13. |
Step 13 |
Open dropout and connect the two 120 volt risers to the service secondary then close the drop out |
