What are 3 other drugs that may induce inflammatory myopathies?
Trytophan, D-penicillamine, & procainamide
What drug at 30mg/d is associated with an inc. risk of myopathy 2nd to impaired protein synthesis or catabolism?
Prednisone.
Pt's with adverse rxn to prednisone therapy present with these symptoms
Proximal muscle weakness and atrophy assoc'd with Cushingoid appearance (moon facies, truncal obesity, hyperpigmentation)

What may result from the use of high dose IV corticosteroids?
Acute onset of severe generalized weakness.
What is a syndrome that may occur due to prednisone use in the ICU?
Acute quadriplegic myopathy
What agents used along with high does IV cortisteroids may cause an acute onset of generalized weakness?
NM blocking agents.
This drug, otherwise known as IPECAC, at high overuse may cause profound proximal myopathy and cardiomyopathy?
Emetine
