Lipitor

atorrastatin (a TOR va sta tin)
Reduces levels of "BAD" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in the blood, while increasing levels of "Good" cholesterol (HDL)

Treats high cholesterol also used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack, or other heart complications in people with type 2 diabetes, coronary heart desease, or other risk factors.
Nexium

esomeprazole (ee so MEP ra zol)
Decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

Treats symptoms of lastroesophageal reflux desease (GERD) and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid such as zollinger-ellison syndrome. Also used to promote healing of erosive esophagitis. Also to prevent gastric ulcer caused by infection.
Plavix

clopidogrel (kloe PID oh grel)
Keeps platelets in your blood from corgulating (clotting) to prevent unwanted blood clots that can occur with certain heart or blood vessel conditions.

Prevents blood clots after recent heart attacks or stroke, and in people with certain disorders of the heart or blood vessels.
Advair Diskus

fluticasone and salmeterol (floo TIK a son, sal ME te rol)
Fluticasone is a steroid. Advair prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Salmetrol is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing muscles in the airway to improve breathing.

Used to prevent asthma attacks. Also used to prevent flare-ups or worsening of chronic obstructive pulmonary desease (COPD) associated with cronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.
Seroquel

quetiapine (kwe TYE a peen)
is an antipsychotic medication. It works by changing the actions of chemicals in the brain.


Seroquel is used to treat schizophrenia in adults and children who are at least 13 years old. It is used to treat bipolar disorder (manic depression) in adults and children who are at least 10 years old.

Seroquel is also used together with antidepressant medications to treat major depressive disorder in adults.

Extended-release quetiapine (Seroquel XR) is for use only in adults and should not be given to anyone younger than 18 years old.
Abilify

aripiprazole (AR i PIP ra zole)
Abilify (aripiprazole) is an antipsychotic medication. It works by changing the actions of chemicals in the brain.



Abilify is used to treat the symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (manic depression). It is also used together with other medications to treat major depressive disorder in adults.

Abilify is also used to treat irritability and symptoms of aggression, mood swings, temper tantrums, and self-injury related to autistic disorder in children who are at least 6 years old.
Singulair

leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een)
Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms

Singulair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. It is also used to relieve runny nose and sneezing caused by allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months old.

Do not give Singulair to a child without a doctor's advice.

Singulair is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (narrowing of the air passages in the lungs) in adults and teenagers who are at least 15 years old and are not already taking this medicine for other conditions.

If you already take Singulair to prevent asthma or allergy symptoms, do not use an extra dose to treat exercise-induced bronchoconstriction.
