- COX 3: reduces pn and fever w/o reduction in inflamm - Metabolized by PHASE II metabolism; utilizes sulfate & glucuronide - Cyt P450 2E1 & P450 3A4 convert to NAPQI (n acetyl p benzo quinone imine) which has high rate of hepatic toxicity; rqrs glutathione - Decreased lvls of glutithione may precipitate acute hepatic necrosis |
