HYCD/APAP (Hydrocodone Bitartrate with Acetaminophen) (opiod analgesic) |
Brand Name: Lortab, Vicodin,[5/7.5/10-300] Norco[5/7.5/10-325] [Lortab elixr is 7.5mg/15mL) FDA Indications/ Dosages: For the relief of moderate to moderately severe pain: One to two tablets or three teaspoonful every four to six hours as needed for pain. The total 24 hour acetaminophen dosage should not exceed 3.5 grams. Adverse effects: dizziness, drowsiness, constipation, nausea, vomiting Counseling: -(cause drowsiness)-> caution with machinery/ mental alertness needed -Avoid alcohol -Take with food or milk -may be habit-forming -store cool dry place, away from sunlight and children -if dose missed, skip, and return to normal dosing schedule. |

Levothyroxine Sodium (Hormone/ Thyroid) |
Brand Name: Synthroid, Levoxyl, Levothroid FDA Indications/ Dosages: Replacement therapy for reduced or absent thyroid function of any etiology 0-1yrs: 9mcg/kg/day 1-5 yrs: 6mcg/kg/day 6-10 yrs: 4 mcg/kg/day 11-20 yrs: 3mcg/kg/day Adults: 25-300mcg orally/day -Myxedema coma or stupor(without severe heart disease): 200-500 mcg IV on the day 1. Give 100-300mcg IV day2; Give 50-100mcg IV each day after. Do not add to other intravenous fluids. Adverse effects: Rare. Overdosage: hypermetabolic state-> fever, hypoglycemia, heart failure, fluid loss, tachycardia, anxiety, insomnia. Consultation: Do not discont. w/o PA consult -Empty stomach (1hr b4 or 2 hrs after) -Note PA if overdose -Loss of hair in kids -cool dry place, away from kids, s-light -If skipped, take and continue regular schedule-> too late, just return to normal (no double) |

Brand: Zocor Indications: Reduces elevated total, LDL cholesterol, apo-B, and triglyceride levels to incrs HDL. Begin after 3-6 wks cholesterol lwring diet.
