Reasonable suspicion |
Information known to the officer that collectively amounts to more than a guess or hunch but leads to suspension of a crime. |
|
Probably cause |
Facts and circumstances within the officer's knowledge that are sufficient to warrant a reasonable person to believe that a crime has been committed, or that evidence of criminal activity is present at a particular place or particular time. |
|
The Difference |
The main difference is probable cause is the culmination of facts that reasonable suspicion initially did not warrant, but specifically allowed to culminate. |
