What was the Sparticist uprising?

The sparticist uprising was a group of left-wing communist who made a plan to seize power on 5th January 1919.

Why did the Sparticist uprising fail?

The uprising failed due to the mobilization of the freikorps and the lack of leadership from Liebkneckt and Luxemburg who were caught and killed, and therefore left the entire party frustrated from the lack of leadership. Another reason might have been the harsh treatment the leaders encountered when they were caught

What was the Kapp Putsch?

The Kapp putsch occurred in 1920 and was lead by Wolfgang Kapp; he was an extreme nationalist who belonged to the freikorps. He lead the revolt in which he took power from Berlin.

Why did the Kapp Putsch fail?

The Kapp putsch failed because Ebert called a general strike to ensured that those who supported Kapp could not move around and such paralysis doomed the putsch to failure. Kapp and Luttwitz fled Berlin on March 17th.
