B.YUAN: SI-4: On the ulnar border of the hand, in the depression between
the base of the fifth metacarpal bone and the
triquetral bone.
C.Luo channel begins at SI-7: On a line connecting Yanggu SI-5 and Xiaohai SI-8, 5 cun
proximal to Yanggu SI-5, in the groove between the
anterior border of the ulna and the muscle belly of flexor
carpi ulnaris.
name a feature of the SI luo channel
A.SI luo does not connect with an organ it separates from SI channel at SI-7 & connects with the heart channel
this way it can keep heat away from the organ.
B. The luo connects with the shoulder at LI-15
SI divergent channel
separates from primary channel at the shoulder and enters the axilla, crosses the heart and descends to the abdomen where it connects with the small intestine.
drain heat from the heart
SHAOZE SI-1
Lesser Marsh
On the dorsal aspect of the little finger, at the junction of
lines drawn along the ulnar border of the nail and the base
of the nail, approximately 0.1 cun from the corner of the
nail.
QIANGU SI-2
Front Valley
LOCATION
On the ulnar border of the little finger, in a depression just
distal to the metacarpo-phalangeal joint.
HOUXI SI-3
Back Stream
Shu-Stream and Wood point of the Small
Intestine channel
Confluent point of the Governing vessel
LOCATION
On the ulnar border of the hand, in the substantial depression
proximal to the head of the fifth metacarpal bone.
WANGU SI-4
Wrist Bone
Yuan-Source point of the Small Intestine
channel
On the ulnar border of the hand, in the depression between
the base of the fifth metacarpal bone and the
triquetral bone.
YANGGU SI-5

Intestine channel
LOCATION
At the ulnar border of the wrist, in the depression between
the head of the ulna and the triquetral bone
YANGLAO SI-6
Support the Aged
Xi-Cleft point of the Small Intestine channel
LOCATION
When the palm of the hand is placed on the chest, this
point is located on the dorsal aspect of the head of the ulna,
in a cleft level with and to the radial side of the high point
of the styloid process of the ulna.
LOCATION
ZHIZHENG SI-7
Branch of the Upright
Luo-Connecting point of the
Small Intestine channel
LOCATION
On a line connecting Yanggu SI-5 and Xiaohai SI-8, 5 cun
proximal to Yanggu SI-5, in the groove between the
anterior border of the ulna and the muscle belly of flexor
carpi ulnaris.
XIAOHAI SI-8
Small Sea
He-Sea and Earth point of the Small Intestine
LOCATION
In the depression between the tip of the olecranon process
of the ulna and the tip of the medial epicondyle of the
humerus.
NEEDLING
JIANZHEN SI-9
True Shoulder
LOCATION
On the posterior aspect of the shoulder,
1 cun superior to the posterior axillary
crease when the arm hangs in the adducted position.
NAOSHU SI-10
Upper Arm Shu
Meeting point of the Small Intestine and
Bladder channels with the Yang Linking and
Yang Motility vessels
On the posterior aspect of the shoulder, in the depression
inferior to the scapular spine, directly superior to the
posterior axillary crease when the arm hangs in the adducted
position.
TIANZONG SI-11
Heavenly Gathering
On the scapula, in a tender depression one
third of the distance from the midpoint of
the inferior border of the scapular spine to the inferior
angle of the scapula.
BINGFENG SI-12
Grasping the Wind
LOCATION
In the centre of the suprascapular fossa, directly above
Tianzong SI-11, in a depression formed when the arm is
raised.
NEEDLING
Oblique medial insertion towards the spine 0.5 to 1 cun.
Caution: deep perpendicular insertion, especially in thin
patients, carries a substantial risk of inducing a pneumothorax.
ACTIONS
Expels wind and benefits the shoulder and scapula
INDICATIONS
• Pain of the shoulder and scapula with inability to
raise the arm, stiff neck with inability to turn the
head, pain and numbness of the upper arm, cough
with stubborn phlegm.
Bingfeng SI-12

process of T1 (Taodao DU-13).
LOCATION NOTE
When the shoulder is relaxed, the three cun line corresponds
to the medial border of the scapula.
NEEDLING
Oblique medial insertion 0.5 to 1 cun.
Caution: perpendicular insertion, especially in thin patients,
carries a substantial risk of inducing a pneumothorax.
ACTIONS
Activates the channel and alleviates pain
Expels wind and cold and benefits the shoulder and scapula
