Greek culture - Roman culture - Middle Ages - The reinassance
The renaissance means rebirth, its called like that because the Greek and Roman culture were "reborn"

Italy's inportant cities during the renaissance:
• Milan: Francesco Sforza had a group of mercenaries who were very violent and helped him to control the cities. He increased taxes, making Milan a healthy city
• Venice: it was important because its geography, and the trading they did with Asia. They became wealthy with it
• Florence: it was a wealthy city because of the war they made with smaller states. It was ruled by the Medici family, who spent a lot of money

As the rest of Europe saw that the italians were growing into wealth, they copied their ideas and that is how the Renaissance expanded
Italian wars
• The french king Charles VIII, conquered Naples (1494)

• The states in the North of Italy, asked for help to Spain.

• Spain sent armies to Italy

• Spain and France were fighting in Italy

• Spain entered Rome along with the mercenaries making the loss of Rome
