Who has been granted legislative powers in the U.S. government?
The Senate and the House of Representatives.
Who makes up the House of Representatives (H.O.R.)
The H.O.R. is made up of 435 members, divided among the states based on population. Each representative gets a 2 year term.
What are the qualifications of a member in the H.O.R. How is this decided?
They must be at least 25 years old, and have been a U.S. citizen for at least 7 years, and also be a resident of the state that they are representing.
How many representatives are there total in the H.O.R. ?
The population=the number of representatives per state.
When did we begin to elect our Senators directly? How long is a Senator's term?
We began electing since 1913. The Senators are in there for 6 year-terms.
How many times can a member of the H.O.R. or Senate run and/or be elected?
There is no term limit.
How are the elections for Senators different then the elections for the House?
They elections for the Senate are staggered so that 1/3 of them are elected every two years.
What are the qualifications for Senators?
They must be 30 years old, have been a U.S. citizen for at least 9 years, and a resident of the state they are representing.
How does the Vice-President interact with the Senate? What happens if the Vice President is not able to be there?
The Vice-President is president of Senate, and makes the final vote if there is a tie between the Senators.
When are elections held?
Every two years.

The early year.
What is the quorum rule?
This rule is the minimum amount of members.

The H.O.R.
Once a bill is passed by both houses, where does it go?
The president or the governor
What is the congress able to do if the president vetoes the bill?
The congress can override the bill by getting at least 2/3 of them to vote in favor of the bill.
