Physical Setting |
Where the story takes place. The "where" can be very general- a small farming community, for example- or very specific- a two story frame house at 739 Hill Street in Scott City, Missouri.

A character who has two sides, representing one or two traits- often a sterotype. Flat characters help move the plot along more quickly because the audience immeditely understands what the character is about

Indirect Characterization |
The author introduces the character by describing the characters personality in detail. |

Internal Conflict |
The protagonist in the story experiences conflict with her or his conscience. More than the main character can experience INTERNAL CONFLICT.

External Conflict |
Is when the character experiences conflict with the other characters, society, nature.

Dynamic Characterization |
A character who experiences an essential change in personality or attitude. Progtagonist are almost always dynamic.

Static Characterization
|
A character who does not change or develop beyond the way in which she or he is first persented.
