Plot |
Plot is what makes up the story. Plot is the first hook, or spark of interest that gets the reader into the story. It is how the story progresses. |

Setting
|
Two types, Chronological and Physical.
Physical Physical setting is where the story takes place. Such as a farm, a big city, or the moon. Chronological This is when the story takes place, such as June 6, 1944 (D-Day) or something more general, such as August 2015. |

Character
|
What are the characters like in the story? Are they brave, cowardly, sad, happy, etc. There is the Protagonist (main character) and the Antagonist(s). |

Flat Characterization |
A Character with only one or two sides, not very sophisticated, a simple character, like a stereotype. They are easy to understand. |

Round Characterization |
Character who is very complex, not a stereotype, with several sides, and unpredictable behavior. These are usually antagonists. |

Dynamic Characterization |
A character who undergoes a significant change throughout the story. Protagonists are almost always dynamic.

Static Characterization
|
Character who does not undergo a change at all in the story, and stays the same on which he or she is represented in the beginning of the story.

Conflict
|
A problem between two entities in the story. Such as the protagonist and the antagonist in a fight. |

Symbol
|
A symbol is something which means something else. |
|
Point of View
|
How the story is told. More Specifically, who tells it. Theres three types of Point of view. First person, Third person omnicent, and third person limited.

Theme
|
This is the main idea of the story that he/she wants the reader to understand.
