What was the Townshend act? What did it lead to?

Placed taxes on more items and allowed soldiers to violate privacy and let soldiers go through peoples stuff. Lead to more resentment of soldiers and boycotting.

What was the Proclamation of 1763? What did it lead to?

Colonists were not allowed to settle west of the appalachian mountains. Lead to less fighting with the natives and colonists resenting the british (because the british forced the colonists out of their home)

What was the Sugar Act? What did it lead to?

It set taxes on molasses and sugar imported by colonists (tax on luxury items.) Lead to people boycotting buying fancy stuff and lots of anger.

What was the Stamp Act? What did it lead to?

This act made colonists pay for an official stamp, or seal, when they bought paper items. Lead to protests against the stamp act, which shut down many colonial courts.

What was the Quartering Act? What did it lead to?

Colonists were forced to feed and shelter british troops. Lead to complaints, protesting, and anger. Resentment was created between colonists and british soldiers.

What was the Boston Massacre? What did it lead to?

A crowd gathered around a british soldier, and a colonist struck him. There was a huge fight, which killed 3 men in the act, and 2 men after. It lead to lots of propaganda against the british.

What was the Tea Act? What did it lead to?

British government let company sell tea directly to colonists, which was bad for tea merchants. It lead to a decline in merchants and to the Boston Tea Party

What was the Boston Tea Party? What did it lead to?

Colonists disguised themselves and dumped tea into the ocean off british ships. Lead to more acts of rebellion and defiance for colonists. Lead to British making the Intolerable Acts.

What were the Intolerable Acts? What did they lead to?

King George the third was angry at the colonists, so he shut down the Boston Harbor. It lead to the colonies coming together to go against the british.
