- Results from reaction to substance to which pt is hypersensitive or allergic

Metabolic

- Body's homeostasis impaired



Psychogenic

- Caused by overwhelming emotional factors


- Lack of blood to the brain

- Infection overwhelms body

- Poison substances accumulate in bloodstream
