Bits Per Channel (BPC)

Defines the maximum number of values per color channel

a composition made of many layers is nested inside of a single layer. Makes organization of layers simpler and easier

Time Remapping

A method to alter the timing of a layer using keyframes. It compresses or expands time by movign the keyframes closer or further apart.

The animation curve which defines an object's acceleration and deceleration

Uncompressed file

Full resolution - no compression at all. We use png, photoshop or tiffs files for this

compressed file

reducing the "size" or "bit-rate" of a file so that it can be played easier or converted for the web. We typically use h.264 for this

Codec

the type of mathematics used to compress - i.e. "h.264" uses a different math to reduce the file size than "motion jpg".
