Contraindications for use of spasticity meds
1. if pt uses their spasticity for fx activity (standing)

2. pt is on anticoagulant therapy (potential bleeding at injection site)

3. pt is unable to cooperate

4. pt has a joint deformity/contracture
Criteria for Baclofen pump
pt is a 3 or 4 on modified Ashworth scale

pt has multiple joint spasticity that limits fx

pt can't tolerate oral medication
Baclophen pump
pump in abdomen

catheter to L2, up to T6 and as far as the cervical spine
Precautions with Baclofen pump
avoid forceful trunk exercise

avoid heat modalities
