Scrape Family

(chugs, skootches)
(sides one or two footed)
uses an edge of the tap shoe, plays a note as a stretched sound, try starting from the toe and scrape to get a zipper sound

chugs or skootches- the ball of the foot stays connected to the floor as you push the heel forward

sides one or two footed- use a bent knee keeping the weight on the toes.
Shuffles
comes from the dancer copying the drum beat, the up beat and the down beat.

Prep is knee lifted 45 degress on every single shuffle, whole leg swings up and down with a relaxed foot. There is no use of passe or kicking back.

A double shuffle is not 2 shuffles in a row, it is a 4 beat shuffle. Built into the words "double shuffle" in the exact rhythm.
