Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)
The federal government now places a major role in monitoring workplace safety and providing workers with information about workplace health risks
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Provides for a minimum wage for most all American workers and also mandates that employees working over 40 hours per week be paid over-time, and has some restrictions on the usage of child labor.
