Placing the battery switch to 'ON' closes what relay's?
Batt relay
Batt tie-in relay Emer bus power relay |
BATT FEEDER FAIL test part 1
Opens:
Batt relay Batt tie-in relay Emer bus power relay Leaves you with Stby Batt/Bus |
BATT FEEDER FAIL test part 2
Closes the EMER BUS PWR RELAY allowing the battery to power the emergency bus (still have stby bus as well)
Start Bus allows power to flow where?
From BATT thru BATT BUS to START BUS and to the GEN thru GCU
Battery Feeder Fail Scenario #1
Red BATT FDR FAIL light on overhead panel illuminates
BFPU has lost power and is no longer protecting the BATT |
BATT FDR FAIL scenario #2
Indications: Red BATT FDR FAIL light on overhead panel illuminates and EMER BUS FDR FAIL annunciator illuminates
Problem: Not necessarily anything wrong with the BFPU. EMER BUS FDR RCCB has popped and the aircraft battery is isolated from the EMER BUS. The EMER BUS is now powered by the Left Load Bus and subsequent loss of the Left Load Bus will result in the loss of the EMER BUS |
BATT FDR FAIL scenario #3
Indications: Red BATT FDR FAIL light on overhead panel illuminates, EMER BUS FDR FAIL and BATT CUT OFF annunciators illuminate
Problem: Not necessarily anything wrong with the BFPU. The BATT RELAY and EMER BUS FDR RCCB have opened and the battery is isolated from everything. The EMER BUS is now powered by the Left Load Bus and subsequent loss of the Left Load Bus will result in the loss of the EMER BUS |
BATT CH BUS allows power to flow where?
from generators to BATTERY to charge
OR on External/Batt power -- allows GPU/Batt to power aircraft systems |
Inverter Switch in 'Auto,' what do inverters power?
Normally NO.1 powers the primary bus and NO.2 powers the secondary bus.
If NO.1 fails, NO.2 will drop the secondary bus and power the primary shed busses |
Inverter Switch to 'NO.1'
No.1 powers primary bus, but without fault protection, No.2 operates normally
Inverter Switch to 'NO.2'
No. 1 powers secondary, No. 2 powers primary, no fault protection
3 requirements to use external power:
generators off-line
battery switch - ON 28VDC at the plug |
GCU monitors what line?
generator feeder line
After engine start and a generator is online, what happens to external power?
Automatically de-energizes the external power relay isolating the GPU from the start bus
Standby Battery is normally charged by?
emergency bus
Standby bus normally powered by?
LH load bus
three types of CB's in the jet?
Push/pull type
rocker actuated snap on switch type toggle switch type |
