What is main difference between having Stby power and Emergency power?
Pitch trim and gear position indications. Also, on stby you don’t have intercom, annunciators, flt deck lighting.
What components are powered by the standby bus?
(CRUISSE)
Co-pilot instrument lights, engine EFC start, left ITT, RTU 1, stby instruments, UHF radio CRUISSE (Copilot instrument lights, RTU 1,UHF 1 radio, ITT #1,Standby Altimeter Vibrator, Standby Attitude indicator, EFC (start)) |
What components are powered by the emergency bus?
SLEEVES
Selected left hand instruments, Landing Gear position, Engine ignition and Control (left engine only), Emergency Pitch Trim, VHF Nav 1,Engine Fire detection (fire bell only – not the warning lights), Standby Bus The major ones are: gear position indicators, emergency pitch trim, fire bell, left N1 and N2, nav 1, engine fire extinguishing capability. |
What are the functions of the GCU?
Ground fault protection, over voltage protection; reverse current protection and equalization circuit load
What is the maximum generator load for one generator up to 32,500 ft, 32500-41000?
400 Amps; 32,500-41-000 280 amps both operating 280 Amps per generator
What do you lose when you lose all AC power?
26V primary – pitch trim position; 115V primary- GPWS; 26V Primary shed-flap position, flap asymmetry detection/protection, LH& RH oil pressure, 115V primary shed is not used; 26V secondary-not used, 115V secondary-GRE.
What causes the AC bus shed light to come on?
Emergency bus powering #2 inverter and #1 inverter failed.
What do you lose when you lose a generator?
Nothing if the other generator is working.
Initially, what do you lose when you lose both generators?
Transfer fuel pumps, aux cool.
What is the power source for non-GPU engine starts on the ground?
First engine – battery; second engine - generator.
What is the power source for starter assisted air starts?
Battery.
Where are the starter/generators located
on in each engine's accessory drive gear(container)
What is the minimum N2 to provide rated generator power output
58%
What ensures equalization of the system's load?
The generator control unit (GCU), it also provide reverse-current protection and fault protection from over-voltage conditions and ground faults
Battery
24 volt, 40 ampere-hour lead-acid located in the aft fuselage compartment
Placing the Battery switch to the EMER position
disengages the battery relay and battery tie-in relay. . . the battery then supplies dc power through the emergency bus power relay to the emergency bus
Battery feeder protection unit
detects a ground fault that may occur in the battery and external power feeder and ground lines
DC standby battery power
Items: |
CRUISE
Located in the nose, powers: copilot instrument light, RTU1, UHF radio ITT1, standby attitude indicator, standby altimeter vibrator, EFC |
AHRS battery power
24-vdc, lead-acid aux battery. Supplies 11min of power to either AHRS computer if the load bus power falls below a preset limit
In the event of electrical system failure, excluding the aircraft battery placing the Battery switch to the EMER position
causes the battery to power the emergency bus, standby bus, and standby battery
