Free Style=Flutter Kick ~ Front Crawl
Flutter Kick:
*kick from hips
*slightly bend knees
*point toes
*Kick up legs up and down in a scissor like motion

Front Crawl:
*arms alternate between recovery and pull/push
*hands enter above head with fingers first and fingers together
*Fingers stay together during push/pull
*elbows exit the water before the hands and stay high above the ear
*Arms do NOT go out to the side
*exhalation takes place in water and inhalation takes place during recovery
*body rotates on slight axis towards each recovery arm
Back Stroke= Flutter Kick ~ Back Crawl
Back Crawl:
* Head stays back with eyes looking up
*Arms rotate between recovery and the push/pull
*arms stay straight during recovery
*hands exit the water at knee level with palms facing the body thumbs up
*Hands enter the water behind the head with palms facing away from the body and pinkys down
*during the push/pull motion, elbow bends in towards side and palms push the water towards the feet
*no windmills
Breast Stroke= Frog Kick ~ Arm Action~Timing
FrogKick:
*Starting in stream line position
*knees bend up toward the butt with feet together and toes facing away from the body
*Legs begin to seperate at the knees
*Feet and legs make a down and out motion at the same time and whip back to streamline.
Arm Action:
*starts in streamline position Exhale
* palms face outwards
*arms move out and down in a circular motion towards the hips
*Hands come together at the stomach with palms facing up
Timing:
*Kick and arm movement don't happen at same time
*movement starts in streamline position then works into inward/outward sweep of the arm action (breathing takes place in arm action) frogkick happens after inward sweep
*FRogkick should begin as soon as the hands come together at the stomach during the end of inward sweep
*Back into streamline and repeat
