Desalination is when you take the salt out of seawater and it is extremely expensive, so poorer countries can't exactly afford it. If the can't afford to clean the water they have, they DEFINITELY can't pay to desalinate it. |

During the war, approximately three years ago, Insurgent blew up the cleaning facility (newly fixed too). The water is dirty and people are sick (Typhoid and Cholera), but they can't fix it because they are spending all of their money on war.
