3 gifted and talented delivery approaches:

Enrichment Approach, Accelerated Approach, Combination

Enrichment Approach:

Horizontal Approach, designed to expand the current curriculum and includes topics not found in the traditional curriculum. Students do not move ahead of their peers.

Accelerated Approach:

Vertical approach, students move through the general curriculum in a shorter time span. Acceleration does not cause social adjustment problems. Trick is to provide environments that both academics and social development are possible.

Combination:

Revolving door, In the revolving door, typical student periodically participate in advanced studies.

Gifted:

Seen as having high levels of intelligence, outstanding abilities, and capacity for high performance across the board.

Talented:

Show natural aptitude or superior ability in a specific area.

Creativity

A form of intelligence characterized by advanced divergent thought, the production of many original ideas.
