Secondary Data Analysis
data may be obtained from:
1. prior research studies
2. medical records
3. death certificates
4. national data sets
Disadvantages of Secondary Data Analysis
No control over what data was collected and quality of data
Meta Analysis
neither observational or experimental. Combines results from numerous published studies. Can do with observational or experimental studies, but you should keep the results separate. Not just a literature review, but new analysis of data.
Qualitative Research
descriptive (words, interviews, photos, videos). Data is usually collected in a natural setting instead of the laboratory. Concerned with "process" instead of experimental outcomes develops hypothesis instead of testing them
Quantitative Research
use of statistics to assist in research
