3rd Person: The character is outside the story, and refers to characters by name and uses he, she

What are the 2 different types of mood?

Pacing: The author controls how fast we read


Word Choice: The author uses words to set the mood of the story- creepy, scary

What are the different types of Characterization?

Directly, Indirectly, Major, Minor


Direct= When the author describes her directly


Indirectly= When the author "shows" us what the character does- A character is a bully because he yells at kids


Major= A character who is described greatly, and rounded


Minor= a character who is described in less detail, remains flat


Static: A character who remains the same is a static character


Dynamic: A character who changes during the middle of the story

What are the different parts of a story chart

Exposition, Inciting Incident, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution

When is there an exception when you don't need to have a resolution- the story is left at the Climax
