What does 2 dependent samples evaluate?

Evaluates whether the mean of the difference between 2 variables is significantly different from 0

A Dependent measures or within-subjects design

The dependent variables is measures two or more times for each individual in a single sample

- the same group of subjects are all used in all treatment conditions

Ex. Group A measured in pre-treatment, during treatment & post-trratment

How to Check Assumptions

Cohen's d

Effect Size

A measure of the absolute magnitude of an effect or relationship

Evaluation of effect size for Cohen's d

Small = 0.2

Medium = 0.8

Large => 0.8

Confidence intervals

Intervals are produced that include the population parameter a certain percentage of the time

Most common is 95%

Ex. n=25 and running the repetition is 100, 95% of those repeated samples would produce intervals containing the true population value
