In a nominal scale, numbers are used simply as names and have no real quantative value.

It has the characteristic of a nominal scale ( Different numbers mean different things) Plus the characteristic of indicating greater than or less than.



Ex. Finish places in a race.



Judgments about anxiety, quality, and recovery Often correspond to an ordinal scale.

Ex. Temperature
