Militarism- Arms Race (competition for better technology of weapons). Alliances- If hostile attacks a country, a friendly country comes in and helps out. Why did Russia, Austria-Hungary, and Ottoman Empire want control of the Balkan States? |
-Russia wanted to unite Slavic people so in exchange Russia could gain access to warm-water points. -Austria-Hungary didn't like the idea of Slavic unity, being a threat to Austria-Hungary rule over the Balkan States -Ottomans had control over the Balkans but it gradually lost its grip and territory of the Balkans. |
