Good morning. I'm delighted to speak to you this morning. You, as the audience need to hear why I’m going to persuade you that in today’s society, before success there’s strategies you must use. I’ll introduce you to three simple strategies that you can take in to having the path of being successful. Hard work. Perseverance. Lastly, being like a devil advocate.

Firstly, let me tell you a story about me as a young kid. As most kids, we tend to focus more of our friends, sports, games, and well, we tend to put aside our studies and mock around. As a kid I was always fooling around, being punished in front of the class and going to the principal’s office. I was known for being bad. That when I hear the people besides talking about how good their grades were, and mine wasn’t, I would always feel dumb, which was expected of me. But when I moved to New Zealand, that's when life gave me a second chance to prove myself, restarting my life, and I decided that I wouldn't be what I was before.

I still remember the very first day in the class, that I was put in the highest group. I mean wow, really? Are you sure? You’re making a mistake? I’m not that smart! All this were questions I wanted to ask to my teacher. But as weeks have passed on, I actually took that opportunity to study hard. From that I’ve gain new skills and confidence.I was happy to be appreciated, because it was all new to me. That my parents would be proud as I'm not just getting the best attendance for school. If you know what I mean, cuz that is not an award your parents would want from you.

To conclude my first strategy, Thomas Edison quoted, “Genius is 1% percent inspiration and 99% perspiration.” So you don’t have to be smart to be successful, because as you grow, new knowledge’s come in, and you actually become more brainer than those students you use to sit with that gets excellence. All with hard work. Hard work is what you do on top of all that. It’s what you do after you’ve put in your eight hours, after you’ve cleaned your apartment, after you’ve kept all your appointments and followed through on all your promises.

Hard work is above and beyond, and it’s the only thing that will push you above and beyond. It’s everything else that you take on when you make the decision to work hard toward your goals. It’s the brutally honest, and the tough personal sacrifices. The easy part of these steps is learning them. The hard part is doing them. Let’s get started, because I believe you are all are hard workers.

Secondly, perseverant. May I ask you guys who like KFC here? Anyone? Well there’s a story about Colonel Sanders. About his perseverant and how he has accomplished his goal. When Colonel Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, was 65 yrs old, he went on the road selling his chicken recipe, which he had perfected over years. He demonstrated his cooking technique, personally, to restaurant owners. He had owned and operated restaurants before, but was embracing the franchising concept. After a large number of rejections, he finally got acceptance.

Kentucky Fried Chicken is now one of the most successful franchises of all time and Colonel Sanders is one of the most recognizable faces/logos in the world. Perseverance requires that you never give up. Perseverance means that you focus on the end result and not on the pitfalls that will come. Perseverance is difficult in itself. It is the one thing that will keep you closer to achieving your goal. So many people never reach their goals because they give up right before the finish line.

Remember that Thomas Edison tested thousands of plants before finding the formula to create plastic. One of his famous quote “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

Lastly, being like a devil’s advocate. Having to know between what’s right or wrong. But neither agreeing or disagreing. There was a movie about it, and to cut it short what happened in the movie is that Kevin’s boss and mentor, John Milton (Pacino), seems to always know how to overcome every problem. To conclude, being like a devil's advocate is having to taking on and playing the role which is to support an enemy for the sake of arguement.

The purpose of this is typically to test the person and identify their weaknesses, if possible, in its structure, and to use such information to expose it to a thorough examination. It’s like being a detective. To find clues you got get close to your main suspect. To prove your point. And although, this isn’t related to us right now. In the future, who knows you might need this.

A qoute which relates to this strategy, is “Make sure everybody in your boat is rowing and not drilling holes when you’re not looking. Know your circle. Keep your friends close, but your enemy closer”.

I hope you take in, or at least some of it, the three strategies I have explained to you. Which were hard work, perseverance, and being like a devil’s advocate. May you apply it in your life, and share my message to those who needs advice.Thank you for listening.
