Space, a zone filled with stars, planets and… lots of space! An average of twenty five billion dollars is spent every year on space exploration and what do you get in return? Loss in profit. With many years of research, not much significant was done with the information rovers sent to space. First of all they are extremely pricey, they do not not benefit humanity and we already have all the information we need to live on this planet safely. Space Exploration is not worth the cost.

For instance Billions of dollars are being spent in space research meanwhile there’s still starving children and poor families striving to survive in harsh conditions. Why take such a huge risk when you can be making the world a better place assuredly. In 2011, NASA used 0.5% of the $3.4 trillion budget from the US Federal States. That is roughly around 20 billion dollars. We have better things to worry about like cancer and poverty. What if the couple-billion dollar rover had an incident in space. All that money and effort will go down the drain because it seems that science is valued over human lives.

Not only is it a waste of money but we already have the information we need to thrive in this solar system. Eight planets revolve around the sun and the earth is the only planet that can sustain living organisms. We have secure information of what we need to know to make sure everyone is safe. Not to mention that progress takes too long. Just to get a man on Mars will take roughly three hundred days. Until we fully understand and taken care of our home planet, then we can start to think about exploring space.

Aside from communication and entertainment, it is not worth it to invest so much money for space. Keep the satellites and equipment that helps our world but exploring new planets is not necessary. It does not benefit our world if we find a planet which has 300 moons or bringing back a bag of moon rocks. What we care about is our own country. Besides, we can keep our environment green so we never have to worry about overpopulation and overpollution. Pointless money should not be spent on information that does not benefit our economy.

In conclusion, the time and effort is not worth the money put into space exploration. It is very expensive, time consuming and we have all our necessities. We should not even be thinking about space exploration until the problems on earth are sustained.

In addition to that, huge projects like this have too big of a risk. As I said before, one wrong move with the rovers and it is all over. Astronauts who are taken up their are risking their lives for the sake of research just so he can bring a bag of moon rocks back to earth. The same concept applies on space rovers too. All of their efforts depends on the rover's landing, also known as the seven minutes of terror. They have to follow many sequences to stop a 1600 degree rover running at 13000 miles an hour to zero for a perfect landing.
