(b). Motivation: "Por"

Ernesto se casaría con la viuda POR apoderarse de su dinero.
(Ernesto would marry the widow BECAUSE he wants to get her money.)

(a). "Luchar PARA": emphasizes the GOAL & implies that the subject not only struggled to achieve something, but succeeded in achieving it.

(b). "Luchar POR": focuses on the STRUGGLE & is not concerned with the results.
