Varus stress test
Test- Assessment for one-plane lateral instability,
Start position- Supine LE fully extended
Procedure- PT stabilizes the leg proximal to the ankle and pushes the knee laterally, than flex the knee 20-30° and do the same test
Interpretation- + if there is hypermobility
With knee fully extended tests- lateral collateral ligament, posterolateral capsule, arcuate-popliteus complex, biceps femoris tendon, PCL, ACL, lateral gastrocnemius muscle, ITB
With knee flexed tests- Lateral collateral ligament, posterolateral capsule, arcuate-popliteus complex, ITB, biceps femoris tendon
