Air Force Wounded Warrior
A program for any Airman that has a combat or hostile-related injury or illness requiring long-term care that will require a Medical Evaluation Board or Physical Evaluation Board to determine fitness for duty. The program works hand-in-hand with the Air Force Survivor Assistance Program and Airman & Family Readiness Centers to ensure Airmen receive professional support and care from the point of injury to no less than five years after separation or retirement.
America's Heroes at Work
A U.S. Department of Labor project that addresses the employment challenges of returning service members and veterans living with Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Army Wounded Warrior Program
The U.S. Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) is the official Army program that serves severely wounded, injured, and ill Soldiers and their Families, wherever they are located, for as long as it takes. AW2 supports the most severely wounded Soldiers from the Global War on Terrorism who have, or are expected to receive, an Army disability rating of 30% or greater in one or more specific categories or a combined rating of 50% or greater for conditions that are the result of combat or are combat related. Blind Rehabilitation
Includes adjustment to blindness counseling, patient and family education, benefit analysis, comprehensive residential inpatient training, outpatient rehabilitation services, the provision of assistive technology and research. Physician referrals can be directed to the Blind Rehabilitation Program Office at 1-202-273-8482.
Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP) Wounded Service Members Initiative
Provides assistive technology and services to DoD employees with disabilities. CAP works closely with military hospitals and clinics to provide information, resources and assistive technology to wounded service members and their families.
Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC)

Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment
A program designed to provide and facilitate assistance to Marines, Sailors attached to or in support of Marine units, and their family members throughout the phases of recovery.
Marine For Life Program
The Marine For Life Program supports injured Marines and their families and provides transition assistance to Marines who honorably leave active duty service and return to civilian life.
National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Aims to advance the clinical care and social welfare of qualified veterans through research, education and training on PTSD and stress-related disorders. This site is an educational resource on PTSD and traumatic stress for veterans, but it is also for mental health care providers, researchers and the general public.
Navy Safe Harbor Program

Readjustment Counseling
Veterans who served on active duty in a war or conflict may apply for counseling to assist in readjusting to civilian life. Counseling is provided at Vet Centers. To find a Vet Center near you, call 1-800-827-1000 or visit them online.
REALifelines
A U.S. Department of Labor program providing service members who are returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, including those with disabilities, with job training and adjustment services.
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and Spinal Cord Disorder (SCD) Centers
Promote health, independence, quality of life and productivity of individuals with SCI or SCD. Injured service members may be approved by the DoD for one of the 20 SCI centers available throughout the VA system. These centers provide specialized rehabilitative services to individuals with the onset of SCI.
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
The VA offers TBI rehabilitation to ensure that service members with brain injuries receive coordinated, comprehensive care. Specialized TBI services are available at four TBI Centers (Minneapolis, MN; Palo Alto, CA; Richmond, VA; and Tampa, FL). The goal is to return the brain injury survivor to the highest quality of life and functioning and to educate family members and caregivers of the patient's long-term needs. Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program
Assists qualified service-disabled veterans to prepare for, obtain and maintain suitable employment. For veterans who are severely disabled and gainful employment is not an option, independent living assistance may be provided.
War-Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC-DC)
Provides a second opinion for veterans referred with difficult-to-diagnose war-related illnesses and injuries. WRIISC-DC provides an in-depth examination and evaluation of the medical problems of combat veterans with debilitating symptoms that remain unexplained after medical examinations by the VA Medical Center. Combat veterans with medically unexplained illnesses may request a referral to the center from their VA physician. The evaluation is multidisciplinary and focuses on the particular problems of each veteran. Diagnoses are made when possible, and, in all cases, recommendations for management of the veteran's medical problems are given to the referring medical center.

Warrior Care Support Program (North Region)
If you currently live in or are planning to move to the North Region, the Health Net Federal Services (Health Net) Warrior Care Support Program provides you and your family with complete health care planning and coordination services if you have been severely injured or have a combat related behavioral health diagnosis.
Warrior Navigation and Assistance Program (South Region)
If you currently live in or are planning to move to the South Region, the Humana Military Healthcare Services Warrior Navigation and Assistance Program can help guide you and your family through the maze of health care systems, connect you with the resources to return them to productive lives, and help you over the hurdles you may encounter.
