This past tense is used to describe actions that have no known ending, such as:
- stating one's age. (I was 4 years old) - actions that "set the stage" for another action. (I was eating when he came in) - actions that were repeated habitually. (we ate together every night) |

Present Progressive Tense Explanation
|
This tense is used to describe an action that is currently in progress. It is the equivalent of adding -ing to an infinitive in english. It is not used for future actions.

Present Progressive Tense Conjugations

-ando -er, -ir -iendo -yendo (when the last part of the verb is a consonant) For stem changing -er and -ir verbs, you swap e's for i's and o's for u's in the stem. |
