Don’t underestimate the power of this. You control high, you control the area.

FOCUS MORE ON GETTING ULT CHARGE THAN KILLS

Kills can lead towards winning team fights, constant EMPS can WIN team fights.

Deny the other team kills, Widow especially.

Whoever is doing the most to your team, spend as much time as possible denying their kills.

Play ping pong with the translocator.

Rialto for instance: first point high ground, the wide bit to the narrow across from it around the corner. Take shots, switch angle for surprise.

Always make wrecking ball your priority.

It’s a unique tank, and as Sombra you take away most of his value by making his life hell.

ALWAYS be doing damage for EMP.

Don’t trade your life for it. Do it intelligently. Use corners and high ground. Translocate near but safe.

Unless 25% HP or less - hack FIRST!

It can be the difference between a target living and dying. Cast time is .85 seconds (nothing) but it lasts 8 seconds not including skill lockout.

Call out hacks: 3, 2, 1… HACK!

Sombra exists to make opportunities for her TEAM. If an engagement could be TWO v one you would ALWAYS choose that.

Ping ALL THE TIME.

Don’t waste your knowledge, it’s a button press away. Your team could know a widows location, be aware of a Genji flank, know the whole teams location if they push together.


If the opposing team loses map advantage we are no longer equal ground.

If opposing team is stacked together. Be patient. Don’t throw yourself in a group.

Essentially suicide. You won’t get enough ULT charge and won’t kill anyone. You just sacrifice an advantage you could have had.

If opposing team is stacked together, try to bait one out without sacrificing yourself.

LOOK FOR PPL THAT PLAY OUT OF POSITION ONLY. Try to bait someone away from their team using a translocator. No cooldown once it has settled, which means you can translocate again to get out, or a different angle.

If tank has ULT, stalk them until it is used.

If they have ULT, it is your job to make them waste it. Even if you COULD be shooting, you have to trust your team not to overexpose. If one member does and they die, you MUST cancel the tank ULT otherwise the team fight is done.

Translocate from one high ground to another.

Shoot to get their attention, then trans to an off angle. Even if you aren’t killing anyone you are taking their attention, but more importantly farming ULT.



If you have ULT take their attention smartly. Engage your target on low ground so they feel an advantage, but then TP to high ground.

USE EMP IN AN OPEN AREA, or A CHOKE.

An open area means they’ve committed to taking space, which makes them vulnerable. A choke: they make it through or they don’t, an EMP will impede their success.


OBJECTIVE BASED GAME: A choke is the hardest space to make it through on the way to objective. Easier to keep them held in a choke than not.

Keep track of kill feed.

Spend a match knowing exactly who is dying, and when they are coming and going.

Practicing WAITING MORE, and HACKING MORE.

You are not patient enough when you should be, too patient when you shouldn’t. Start fiddling with that.


General rule: if there are too many enemies clustered (more patient, less (less patient).
