Inauguration of Andrew Jackson

Took out all the fed money deposits in the national bank and gave it to smaller state banks, because he claimed the bank was unconstitutional and favored the rich.

Nullification Act
Congress passed an act, declaring it wouldnt have to pay the illegal tarrifs of 1828 and 1832. The state threatened to secede, or break away from the union if the U.S Fed. Gov. interfered. Then Jackson backed a bill to calm everyone down that lowered the tarrif
Force Bill
Allowed Jackson to use military to enforce acts of congress. South Carolina accepted the new tarrif but nullifed the force bill
Worcester V Georgia
Georgia tried to take the cherokees over and ignored the cherokees rules and laws. In 1832, John Marshall ruled Georgia had no right to interfere with the cherokee and only the fed. Gov. could do that.
Indian Removal Act of 1830
Allowed the Fed Gov. to pay Native Americans to move west. America gave them awful land that is unresourceful and useless in the southeast.
Trail of Tears
In 1835 the cherokee were divided and feeling hopeless. That year they made a treaty of New Echota making the native americans give up their land. Around 2000 cherokee died in camps waiting for the move to begin, and another 2000 died along the way due to exposure to weather and disease and starvation.
Seminole War
In 1835 the seminole people joined forces with other escapees, to fight america, for retalliation of cheif BlackHawkes fight with them. Seminole slaughtered many americans so they allowed the seminole people there land back
