Risks of NRT and stopping smoking |
Catecholamines can affect carbohydrate metabolism and vasoconstriction may reduce insulin absorption. Smoking reduces insulin absorption, therefore stopping smoking can cause increased absorption and risk of hypoglycaemia! Increased risk of adverse effects in hepatic conditions. Stopping smoking speeds up metabolism of warfarin, clozapine etc. |
