Ashlyn: “Hello! I am Ashlyn, and this is Jaimie, Jade, Jenna, and Morgan, and we’re here to teach you about the importance of eating a healthy breakfast every morning before class” Ashlyn: “Now lets see by a show of hands, who ate breakfast?”

Ashlyn: “Wow! Impressive!”

Jade: *exits*

Slide 2

Ashlyn: “But first, we’re going to subject This SLS class to a quick EXAMINATION”

Morgan: *hands out hard crosswords to everyone in on right side of room*

Jenna: *hands out easy crosswords to left side of room*

Morgan: “As dual enrollment students we all know the struggle of missing breakfast or not eating at all”

Jenna: “This is a tragedy as eating breakfast is shown to improve test scores, enhance learning, and increase focus”

Jaimie: “And to prove this to all of you we have set up this brief EXAMINATION”

Ashlyn: *hands out muffins to left side of room*

Jaimie: “Everyone! You have ONE MINUTE to eat your muffins and COMPLETE your crosswords to the BEST of your ability. ANnndd GO!”

Ashlyn: Your time is up! To my people on the left side raise your hand if you got one word, two, three, four, so on so forth. Right side do the same!

Ashlynn: The results are in and the people who ate breakfast on the left side were the obvious winners!Jade: *hands out muffins to right side*

Ashlynn: Now everyone can participate and pay full attention to the rest of our presentation!

Slide 3

Ashlyn: “Now to emphasize this point we have brought two examples along with us, JADE andddd JAMIE”

Slide 4

Jenna: ““Jamie is a SHINING example of a model FSWCH student, he is proud to attend his school and ALWAYS eats his breakfast!!! Jamie what did you eat for breakfast?”

Jaimie: “Why i'm glad you asked! This morning I had a steaming hot plate of {breakfast food}, though in order to make sure I ate a wholesome breakfast I woke up 15 minutes early so I could cook my own food! Now thanks to the breakfast I made I’m feeling ready to face the day”

Jenna: “Thanks Jamie! We hope you have a glorious day today at FSW!”

Slide 5

Ashlyn: “And now for our other example, Jade!” Jenna: “Jade???!”

Ashlyn: “Where is Jade??

Jade: *runs in, holding redbull, really tired* Jade: “Where am I, am I late??? OH my god i'm so sorry everyone, I’m just so TIRED and MALNOURISHED, I was so busy working on the powerpoint last night I forgot to eat a HEALTHY breakfast! Because I didnt eat breakfast I almost fell asleep in my first class and I feel so tired and hungry!”

Jenna: “Well here’s the evidence folks, don’t be like Jade”

Slide 6

Ashlyn: “Now you all know the effects of not eating breakfast, I'm here to talk to you about the Time Management of eating breakfast. In order to ensure that you have a healthy breakfast so you can be awake and alert you must first follow three crucial steps.”

Ashlyn: “First you must THINK before you leave for school, have I, a model FSWCH Collegiate High School student, eaten breakfast?”

Ashlyn: “Then you must SEEK, your most nutritional breakfast food option”

Ashlyn: “And finally, you must EAT your choice of breakfast food”

Slide 7

Jenna: “What are your breakfast food options you ask? Well I’m here to tell you”

Jenna: “Now you have all the information about how and why you should eat breakfast, I'm here to serve you some piping hot facts about the true scientific value of eating breakfast. Now you may have noticed but Jamie has MUCH more energy than Jade, that is because eating breakfast can provide you with the energy to get you through the school day! Breakfast is also a great source of nutrients to keep you on your toes, unlike Jade :(“

Jade: *falls asleep on desk/floor*

Slide 8

Morgan: “I’m here to help you face the facts!”

Slide 9

Morgan: ““However, there are some pretty high stakes to not eating breakfast, you may feel tired and hungry, but it can also have a negative effect on your health. skipping breakfast increases the risk of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and lowers the capacity to remember things. Running out of the house and forgetting to eat breakfast can actually make you remember less as you sit in your daily classes.”

Morgan: “Believe it or not breakfast can increase your lifespan! That means you get more days to get out of bed and eat breakfast!”

Morgan: “There’s also some cold, hard, science behind the reasons you should eat a healthy breakfast, eating breakfast lowers the stress hormone cortisol and keeps you more relaxed and focused throughout the day.”

Slide 10

Jaimie: ““However there is a catch!”

Morgan: “Depending on what you eat for breakfast you may not actually reap the benefits. Eating an UNHEALTHY breakfast can be far worse than not eating at all.”

Jenna: “Jade is here to be a buzzkill and explain to all of us the stone cold truth about eating UNHEALTHY breakfast”

Jade: “Though you may not want to believe it, there are some breakfast foods designed to DECEIVE you, and I am here to point out these CURSED breakfast foods. The most common of these unhealthy breakfast foods can include pop-tarts, breakfast cereal, orange juice, salty bacon and sweet, sweet MINI MUFFINS.”

Slide 11

Ashlyn: “However Jenna and I are here to help everyone see the light”

Jenna: “While it may seem that we have eliminated all of your favorite breakfast dishes, Ashlyn and I hope to shed some light and introduce you to our favorite wholesome, american, breakfast food”

Slide 12

Ashlyn: “Just think of all your options” Jenna: “Breakfast doesn't have to be a complicated, five course meal”

Slide 13

Ashlyn: ““Eggs take only a couple minutes to make, and just one large egg will give you up to 7 grams of protein.”

Slide 14

Jenna: “Oatmeal is one of the quickest and most energizing meals you can have” Morgan: “Just 1 cup of steel-cut oats can give you 6 grams of protein and 27 grams of complex carbohydrates, which are key to long-lasting energy”

Slide 15

Ashlyn: “a carb-packed bagel is a decent alternative to unhealthy breakfast foods””

Jenna: “Your average bagel houses around 250 calories. These calories come from the 10 grams of protein and 48 grams of carbohydrates.”

Jaimie: “These bagels are not the most nutritious choice, but if you’re ever in a rush, a bagel will give you plenty of energy

Slide 16:

Morgan: To wrap this up, let’s test how well you know your breakfast foods: pancake
