Angle of repose
The steepness of a slope that results when loose particles come to rest.
Slope Elements
-Waxing slope: increase of steepness
-Free Facing: steepest part of the slope
-Waning slope(debris): transport out-put out the system
Mass movement types
Falls, Avalanches, Slides, Flows, and Creep.
Falls
Occurs on a steeper slope, and is the fastest form of mass movement. Debris fall without hiting the slope.
Avalanches
Is a mass of falling and tumbling rock, debris, and soil.
Slides
When meteral don't meet in contect with the hill at all, and moves as a single large movement.
Flows
Moderate to fast slide that is being carried down hill. (slump like slide)
Creep
Slowest form of mass movement. When upper solt is creeping down hill at an current rate.
