Fragile X Syndrome
X-linked chromosomal ds a/w w/ mental retardation mainly in males. Males also develop greatly enlarged testicles (macro-orchidism), enlarged ears, and a prominent jaw.
Williams Syndrome
A rare congenital disorder caused by a deletion of part of chromosome 7 characterized by impaired growth, heart disease, hypercalcemia, mental retardation, sensitivity to loud sounds, and “elfin” facial features, among other anomalies.
Angelman Syndrome/Chromosome 15 from Mother
A rare genetic condition marked by severe mental retardation, microcephaly, and paroxysms of laughter.
Prader willi Syndrome/Chromosome 15 from Father
A rare inherited condition marked by genetic obesity, hyperphagia, mental retardation, inadequate growth hormone secretion, short stature, sexual infantilism, and hypotonia.
Klinefelter's Syndrome/47 XXY genotype
Affected male has small, firm testes, gynecomastia, abnormally long legs, minimal body and facial hair, and infertility.
Truancy
A student who stays away from school w/o any leave or ailment; more common in boys; they commit crime during this time.
