Muhammad

Spread Islam in Arabia, claimed that he was visited by an angel, preached that the rich should share their goods, making Islam popular with the poor, and that Allah is the one true god, and all should bend to the will of Allah

Muhammad's Message

Wealthy town leaders should return to the old ways, honor their families, be fair in business, and help the poor by sharing their wealth. This last part appealed to many poo r people because they wanted the wealthy to share their goods.

Quran and Sunna

Quran is Allah's written word, so Muslims strive to follow the Quran and live how the Quran instructs them to. Its rules apply to their daily lives. The Sunna is the customs that are based on what Muhammad said and did.

Farmers and artisans produced a surplus, which caused trade to increase. Merchants brought paper, gunpowder, and porcelain from China. Domes and arches were introduced to India.
