What is an adjective?

Adjectives are used to describe nouns and pronouns adjectives answer questions about nouns and pronouns such as which one? How many?What kind?

It can appear any where in a sentence and is set off by the rest of the sentence with a comma or commas. There may be more than one absolute phrase in a sentence.

What is a Clause?

A group of words that contains a subject and a predicate

What is an independent or (main) clause?

It can stand alone as a grammatically complete sentence because it expresses a complete thought

What is a dependent or (subordinate) clause?

It has a subject and a predicate but cannot stand alone as a complete sentence because it doesn't express a complete thought

It links a dependent clause to an independent clause.
