Battalion Training
Focuses on incident command with simulations, table-top drills, lectures and guest speakers. Ongoing not only to train new Captains and Chiefs but to provide continuing education to current Captains and Chiefs. Deputy Chief also keeps the Departments SOPs current.
Command Training Center (CTC)
Primarily used to train new Firefighters. regularly host companies for drills, classes and other training opportunities. Also houses the Driver Training Division whose function is to train new and perspective drivers of Department vehicles, provide training for drivers who have been involved in accidents and to provide continuing education to our drivers.
Training Academy (TA)
What section houses the Driver Training Divison?
The Training Academy
Responsible for continuing education training for all Dept's Paramedics and EMTs as wll as initial training programs for Paramedics. The staff tracks and records all training in order to allow the members to remain certified in their respective certifications each of which requir specific continuing education classes and classroom hours in order to stay current and provide the best level of emergency medical care to the customers we serve. Also works closely with the area hospitals and other health care facilities to continue the long standing working relationships the Dept has developed througout the community.
