What is the mission of Communications security?

COMSEC is the mission to provide security to naval communications and communications material
What is CMS?

Communication security material system.
-it is described as the system to deny unauthorized persons information of coms material

What is the job of the CMS custodian?

To ensure proper handing, distribution, control, and security of COMSEC material.

What is a limited area?
An area with classified information that a visitor could gain access to

Flash Message

-used for initial enemy contact messages.
-Needs to be hand delivered ahead of all other messages
-Time for delivery has to be under 10 min.

Immediate message

-Used for messages that gravely affect the security of us forces.
-Must be processed, transmitted and delivered in front of priority and routine messages
-time to deliver is 30 minutes

Priority Message

-used for messages that require expedious action by the addressee
-Delivery has to be ahead of all routine messages
-Delivery time has to be between 30 mins to 3 hrs.

Routine Message

-Used for messages which justify rapid means of transmission.
-Delivery has the lowest priority.
-Time to deliver is between 3 and 6 hrs.

What does it mean to minimize communications?

To reduce radio communications to a level to where only emergency messages are transmitted.
