In order to conclude our presentation, having had a look at what happened in the past, let us look into the future.




Lets begin with identifying the main benefits which Metro can derive from ProKoch:

Education =opinions

First, we know that education shapes individuals and their opinions. These opinions later guide behaviors and relationships in a professional context. Whats even more interesting is that these opinions can also guide professional buying behaviors. The values buyers identify with, and the products they find familiar is what drives purchases. The option to select and produce e-learning content on ProKoch can provide Metro with the same tools, granting a long-term competitive advantage.

Data

Another value-adding aspect of ProKoch for Metro is the fact that the platform can generate big data concerning the behaviors and interests of apprentices. As they are the future of the industry, it is crucial to understand their thought processes and habits, to form the company strategy in the long term. Instead of trying to adapt to current trends, the company will be able to predict what the market might want in the future and adjust their portfolio accordingly.

Brand awareness

Lastly, this product has the potential of bringing immense value to the professional culinary community. Apprentices will finally be able to find credible revision material and perform better in a professional context, which will benefit both professional chefs and restaurant owners. Providing this helpful tool free of charge speaks volumes about Metro's values as a company. This leads us to what we hope will be your main outtake from todays presentation.

The German government has failed to modernize the learning material and enforce working hour limitations for the employees of the HoReCa industry, holding back the optimal growth of the sector.

As mentioned earlier, there are few apprentices available for hire; they hold the decision-making power when it comes to choosing employers. However, once their choice is made, they face over hours and poor treatment. Bringing some clarity to the decision-making process through ProKoch will motivate employers to provide better training and working conditions to their apprentices. The ultimate goal of this is to transform the training landscape for apprentices and reform the system from the bottom up, with Metro as the industry pioneer.

Recommendation 1

So now that we have looked over the exciting things Prokoch could accomplish should the application be developed in its current state, we would like to provide you with suggestions on how this concept could be developed in the future. We have structures our recommendations beginning with short-term, essential developments, going onto long-term, more ambitious ones.

Recommendation 2

The first, and absolutely essential element for ProKoch is making sure the information available in the revision section is based off an official study guide, or developed in partnership with the government body which accredits the exams.

Recommendation 3

Once the revision platform is up and running, we recommend incorporating a deadline feature. Providing time limitations for the completion of a specific course, will encourage users to use the platform regularly and motivate them to review the material systematically.

Recommendation 4

Next, although we have included several elements of gamification into ProKoch the way it is today, we recommend taking this aspect of the app a step further. As the revision section of ProKoch matures, the gaming aspect should mature along with it, meaning that the material should shape the type of gaming mechanics used. The possibilities here are varied, ranging from badging to virtual currency.

Recommendation 5

Looking more into the long-term, once a significant user base is built, our recommendation is to draw a closer link between Metro and competitions on ProKoch. To motivate the apprentices to participate in competitions, a selection of the best apprentices of the country should take place once a year. We recommend

Furthermore, while we have included the possibility to generate CVs in the final prototype, many respondents liked the idea of having a section of the platform dedicated to job searching or a direct link to a job platform. We, therefore, recommend Hospitality.Digital to develop this aspect further especially for apprentices who look for a job after completing their apprenticeship.

Recommendation 7

Finally, the most ambitious recommendation would be developing the two remaining sections of ProKoch, that made for Professional chefs and restaurant owners. This would require additional market research, in order to see what restaurant owners specifically would be interested in, and how the three parts could be harmoniously combined.

Conclusion

Now that we have shown you everything we have worked so hard on, let us leave you with a little story. We have begun this mandate focusing so closely on professional chefs, meaning those who are already in the industry, and have been there for a while. Until we by chance heard this quotes by Wayne Gretzky, a Canadian hockey player, which has been repeated by countless CEOs, it goes:
