Independent Variable
The variable in an experiment or study that is manipulated by the scientist.
Dependent Variable
The observed variable (a.k.a. Responding variable) in an experiment or study.
Experimental Control
In a controlled experiment, two virtually identical experiments are conducted. In this one, the factor being tested is NOT applied.
Observe
Statements which are determined by using your senses (taste, touch, smell, etc.) often aided by equipment.
Infer
