The temp. at which an object has no kinetic energy, all molecular motion has stopped.

-Absolute zero is the zero-point of the kelvin scale: 0 K =-273 degrees Fahrenheit.

Absolute Zero

The average energy of motion of a substance. This is what temperature measures.

Average Kinetic Energy

A temperature scale in which the freezing point of water is 0 degrees and the boiling point is 100 degrees.

Celcius (degrees celcius)

A temperature scale based on the freezing on the freezing point of water is (32 degrees fahrenheit) and the boiling point is (212 degrees fahrenheit).

Fahrenheit

The energy that is transferred from a warm body to a cold body.

-Heat flows from an area of higher temperature to an area of lower temperature.

Heat

The unit of measurement on the absolute zero scale.

-The temp. in levies is equal to the temp. in degrees celsius + 273.

-Kelvin = degrees celsius + 273.

-On the Kelvin scale, absolute zero is the zero point.

Kelvin

The energy of motion.

Kinetic Energy

A measure of the average kinetic energy of the molecules.

-Temperature i the measured in degrees Celsius (degrees C) or Kelvin (K).

Temperature

An instrument for measuring temperature.
